Ankle strengthening exercises?

i am a dancer and i recently started pointe. my dance instructor told me to work on my ankle strength. does anyone know any good ankle strengthening exercises?

    I suggest Standing on stairs so only the balls of your feet are on the stair. Rise to releve, and lower as far as you can. Do this 30 times a day at least. As you get better, you can do more. Remember to hold onto something (like a railing) when doing these exercises, you don't want to fall. Oh, and do it slower, it hurts more and helps more!

    Other then that, you could use an exercise band or theraband. Just point and flex your foot with the band around your foot, and it will strengthen it. Usually, when you buy one of these bands, it will come with a booklet outlining basic exercises. Also, remember to buy the heaviest weighted one (there is usually medium, heavy, and super heavy weighted ones).
