Anna Tunnicliffe and crew of Women Match Racing in strong position: 2012 London Olympic Games
At the end of Day 5 proceedings of 2012 London Olympic Games, most of the US Olympic Sailing squad members tumbled down in the overall standings because of low performance on the Weymouth and Portland waters. Four of the squad teams made their way into the
Top 10 ranks but they also failed to retain their positions and slipped down.
However, one of the teams is performing up to the standards so far and has made great improvement from the beginning. The Women Match Racing team of US which is skippered by Anna Tunnicliffe is currently in the leading position after the finish of their
round robin matches.
So far they have participated in nine races and claimed victory in six of them. In their latest matches, they defeated the Dutch team to hit the higher podium places in the Olympic Games. The US Match Racing Team crew comprising of Anna Tunnicliffe, Molly
Vandemoer and Debbie Capozzi are quite happy with their performance and are aiming to make it up to expectations.
Speaking to the local media, Tunnicliffe said, “The round robin you try to win as many races as possible and make it through to the quarter finals. Everybody is really good and there is going to be a battle in all of the line ups.”
