Annie´s Fortune favourite for E B F British Stallion Studs New Ham Maiden Fillies´ Stakes
Annie´s Fortune is expected to bring up her first ever victory in the E B F British Stallion Studs New Ham Maiden Fillies´ Stakes at Goodwood in England on Thursday, August 2, 2012. The class-2 winner will get a cash prize of £11,321 in the end.
The going will be good in the 7 furlong race, which will start at 16:20 GMT. A total of 20 participants will be testing their luck and anyone of them will walk away with a maiden victory at the end of the day.
All of the participants are inexperienced and no one seems to have a big advantage over the other. This will make it hard for the bettors to choose their favourite, however, they can risk their money in favour of Annie´s Fortune, who is a decent runner.
She has been given a general starting price of 25 to 1 by the bookies, which shows that they are not expecting her to be fighting at the front.
Only time will tell whether the two-year-old filly manages to battle at the front or not. Her record definitely proves that she has the ability to give a tough time to her opponents and she is carrying a nice momentum right now.
The Alan Jarvis’ trainee made her debut in May this year and did a decent job back then. She was priced 7 to 1 by the bookies and was expected to be competitive. Although she failed to make it to the top three, yet her performance was good enough to put
her in fifth place.
In her next outing, Annie´s Fortune was once again given decent odds and her team would have expected a solid show from her. However, she was unable to make a big impression and secured another fifth place.
Although Montjeu’s daughter displayed good skills in her first two races, yet her fans would have been a touch disappointed. She made them proud next time around though, securing the runner up spot at Windsor under promising jockey, Michael J. M. Murphy,
who will be partnering her at Goodwood today as well.
The pair did a decent job last time around and will look to continue the same sort of form in today’s race.
