Annika is retiring . She just won at the michelob open. She opened a golf academy and wants to get married. Don't you think she can do it all and still play?

I think she just got tired of doing a couple hundred crunches each day - and may be worried about drug testing coming to the LPGA.

Being #1 or #2 at this point in time is immaterial and not why Annika has announced retirement (even though she smoked Lorena at Kingmill). Annika will be remembered as the greatest female golfer in the past 25 years. Due to her relatively short career, Lorena Ochoa has a very long way to go to prove herself as accomplished as Annika.

I think that she will get the bug again and when the major tournments roll around next year, she will feel the need to play.
