In April, Beck played her first Premier tournament of the 2012 WTA season in Copenhagen. She cleared the qualifying stage successfully but couldn’t register a breakthrough against the Croatian star, Petra Martic, in the opening
round. In the same month, she contested at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix qualifying round and lost in the last battle to the French star, Alize Cornet.
She was dumped in the opening qualifier of Estoril Open as well as French Open. However, she showed immense ability to outfox her opponents in the Juniors French Open event and won the title in Paris. Beck successfully cleared
the qualifying stages at the All England Lawn Tennis Club but couldn’t register an upset against Olga Govortsova in the opening round of Wimbledon Championships.
In July, Sony Ericsson Swedish Open called her for the qualifying round and she cleared the first three hurdles to make her way into the main draw. However, her trip to the elite contest was cut short by Klara Zakopalova who rallied
from a set down to beat the German teenager. She was undone in the qualifiers at the US Open and Linz but reached the main round at Luxembourg courtesy some terrific display of all round performance.
She dispatched the Czech tennis ace, Barbora Zahlavova Strycova, in the opening round before losing out to first round compatriot, Lucie Hradecka. The German ended the year with a couple of Challenger titles in Ismaning and Barnstaple.
She has still got a lot of years left in her career and already ranked amongst the Top-80 players. A little bit of composure and body strength can easily allow her an access into the Top-50 category by the midst of the following season.
