  1. go for it. give him what he wants and he'll appreciate it, as it's coming from you. when you buy the golf equipment you can of course ask the seller if you could have additional features on your purchase.

  2. It makes a difference whether he carries his bag on the course or whether he rides in a cart.

I'm not very familiar with carry bags because I have taken a cart for the last 15 years. However, the best innovation I've seen in carry bags is the addition of the bag stand that pops out when the bag is set down. Other than that the all seem to have limited pocket space in an effort to limit the weight.

As far as cart bags, many of the top club manufacturers offer great cart bags. You can also find them with his favorite college theme on the bag. Most are similar with the exception of an extra pocket here or an extra club holder there. I personally prefer the large cart bags because I take several towels along to keep the grips, hands and cart seat dry in the event of rain and also carry and extra wind breaker and a rain suit in case of a decline in the weather. And as long as it's a cart bag who cares about how much it weighs because you're going to be riding in a cart.

As far as getting his name embroidered, don't. Unless he's a scratch player or a professional, having your name on your bag is a bit nerdy. It's like having plastic covers on your irons. Too nerdy.

My personal favorite cart bags are any of the Taylormade cart bags. Plenty of pockets and zippers, and great colors to choose from. Go to tgw.com and search cart bags. They have over 60 cart bags available.

  3. If he has a lot of clubs meaning 14 maxium You want to get him a bag that is fairly big that will be able to fit all of his clubs plus an umbrella and a golf ball retriver if he has one. Also it depends on whether or not he like to walk and carry, walk and pull, or ride in a golf cart. If he likes to walk and carry you should get him a bag that has a stand on it and also it should be fairly lite.

-If he likes to walk and pull mening use a pull cart the bag is going to be bigger and should look like this.

Also if he uses a golf cart this would be a good choice.

-Finnaly this is where he would be able to get the bag personalized it is the kind of bag tour pros use. they are the biggest bag and wiegh the most.

Any of them you can get personilized at a local golf shop or store.

    I hope this helps.

I wouldn't get his name embroidered on it, unless he's the president of the United States or he's on the PGA Tour, he'll be ridiculed for having his name on his bag :)

    Good Luck!

  5. I don't know about the golf bag but I can help you in how you can get his name on the bag.  Well, first of all select a font of your choice and then take its printout. Of course, of his name. And then write his name in that font on the bag. You can manually do the art work or embroidary on it yourself. But if you don't know how to do that then simply contact someone who does this job. Or you can alternately get some fast color and write his name on the bag so that it won't fade easily.

Well, I wish you a very Happy Anniversary! (I feel happy when I see happy couples and lovers.)

  6. Makes a big difference what type of bag to get on if he walks when playing golf and carries his own clubs, has a caddie carry them, or rides in a cart.  Call up his golf friends and ask them if you don't know.  DO NOT get his name put on the bag, that is only for Professionals and he will be ridiculed forever at every course he goes to as a conceited egomaniac if his name is on his bag.  All the big golf club manufacturers make good bags, Titleist, Calloway, Ping, Taylormade.  It might be neat to get a bag from the same manufacturer as his set of irons.
