I've always wanted to get into broadcasting so what does it take and what should i do to make it into the radio biz ???

Get a sound system...connected it to a microphone...stand on the street corner...and start broadcasting. People do it everyday...been doing it for years. Do you have anything to say?

Generally speaking, an on-air personality has to hold onto a certain demographic to succeed. I don't listen much to commercial radio but I would think that a person on radio needs to communicate clearly, intelligently, humorously, genuinely. And to have some facility with language and a good understanding of interesting topics. Who would want to listen to a poor speaker who is uninformed?

In addition to having talent, one has to be convinced of one's abilities because one continually has to sell Himself or Herself.

Go to all of your local radio stations and apply as an intern. Major in communications in college.
