Question:

Annoying Ipod problem?

I have a pair of Bose On-Ear Headphones and they are amazing. I was listening to my Ipod Classic with them, and with some bassy songs, the headphones buzz, like the sound that a pair of headphones would make if the speakers were blown. I thought the headphones themselves were bad, but then I plugged the same headphones into my Macbook and listened to the SAME song, and the sound quality is incredible. Why does the ipod sound quality suck? Can I fix this?

  1. Well I'm not sure why they sound bad in your ipod but ok in your computer...but..

What you could do is increase the Bit rate.

The bit rate is the amount of information that is in a song, and the higher the bit rate, the clearer the song will sound.

The standard bit rate for itunes is 128 kps. I usually keep it over 192kps. Cause that way my headphones sound good.

    to do this go to

    edit

    preferences

    advanced

    importing

and then click on higher quality, or if you want, make your own custom.

Then reimport the song you want, and there ya go.

  2. Try going to the equalizer (from the iPod > settings > equalizer) and turn on the treble booster. Then turn off the sound check. If you have the equalizer settings on the songs themselves, turn it off (through iTunes.)

If that doesn't help, maybe the headphone jack is fizzing out. http://www.ifixit.com sells replacement headphone jacks for 30 bucks. (I recently replaced mine and it was really easy, it will take 10 minutes tops.)
