Question:

Annoying cassette player noise. How do I fix it?

The cassette player in my car starts making a high pitched squeaky sound whenever I hit a bump in the road. The only way to make it stop is to either hit the space above the face plate of the tape deck or opening and closing my glove box really hard. I'm guessing it's a loose wire or something, but I can't figure out how to reach the wiring. My car is a 98 dodge stratus. :) thanks

  1. Sounds like someone needs a new indash radio...

preferably a CD player (welcome to 1992!)

It may be the lubrication on some of the gears is wearing thin or one of the drive belts is getting worn out... either way - stop hitting your dash and slamming your glove box or else you will need new ones of those.

Head to a local Best Buy or Circuit City and buy a new unit. For about $200 you can get a brand new CD player installed (New Unit, Parts and Labor)
