Question:

Annoying neighbour?

I live in a strata of town homes and recently an annoying new neighbour moved in.

First she got a guy to cut down the tree in her neighbour to the left's yard (because it was "blocking her view") and a few days ago her neighbour to the right caught her trying to cut down some of her bushes (the neighbour to the right's)..

We also have racoons who sometimes visit around here, and they don't cause any harm nor do we mind them but she keeps putting out things to kill the racoons (food etc).

She's really becoming a menace and doesn't seem to understand she can't do whatever she wants, and although we've reminded her of the rules and regulations, she keeps up with her ways. She even talks about sending letters to the city to get them to come and cut down more trees in the area so she can have her view.

What can I do?

btw I live in Surrey, BC

  1. Well, is she renting or owning?  Do you have an owners board?  If you have a board, then it should be taken up with them - they are the ones who can take legal action.  If she is renting, then you have recourse with the actual owners.  If she is touching property that belongs to another, the police can be called.  If she is harming animals, then the local animal rights office of PITA should be called.

If all else fails, get everyone to pay her a visit at the same time - there is strength in numbers!!
