Annoying word of god spreaders?

Question

I'm an a atheist, and I find it extremely annoying that in my community about twice a day I get somebody trying to hand me a flier telling me about jesus and how he saved us all?

I believe Jesus was a person, but not the fictional character religion has turned him into.

How do I politely shoo them away without rudely interrupting them and shutting my door?

i find the best solution is to open the door and say "I am not interested" before they can say anything. at least it works for me, then they just say ok and go to the next door.

As a Christian I respect your right .... not to smoke.

How about, "Thanks, but no thanks."

That should do it.

Just be yourself and tell them no thank you that you are not interested.  I don't think they will be offended.

Put a sign up on your door.  If they still knock, you have every right to be rude and angry with them because they ignored your personal wishes and your right to privacy.

Just kindly tell them that your an atheist and if they'll respect you they will go on their way.
