I have a 10+ gallon tank and 2 anoles and a hermit crab, as I'm reading up on how to properly care for these animals, im finding that they need a lot of the same things. Do you guys think i would have any problems putting them in to the same tank considering its a BIG tank..as long as everyone has what they need???

  1. I have a feeling the hermit crab will soon be dining on anoles

  2. There would be a big problem.  The anoles will eventually hurt the hermit crab when he goes through a molt, or the crab will hurt the lizards(if yours is like mine he'll take live food).

  3. Somebody on my hermit crab care forum actually tried this a couple of years ago. I can't remember the cause of death, but I'm pretty sure a couple of hermit crabs and the anole ended up dying. Impaction, maybe.

Overall my opinion is that it's not a good idea. I definitely recommend that you not try it, for the health of both species.
