Anonymous tip to police?

I would like to give an anonymous tip to the police that someone is continuing to drive without a license after a recent DUI and who I think likely is reoffending and a danger to other motorists. How would you do that? Do I call or...? Do you think they take anonymous tips seriously?

  1. they dont care

  2. I do not know how all of them operate , but I do believe that they check out all tips so that just in case one pans out to be true so if that is what you want to do , then you might try it or call ( there are some lines that are to the police and everything is strictly confidential or anonymous

  3. The more detailed the tip, the more reliable it is.  Most jurisdictions have a crimestoppers hotline that allow for anonymous tips and also give rewards.  http://www.crimestopusa.com/

  4. Yes, they will take your call seriously. The officers I work with do not mind these tips at all, as they are easy work.

The more information you provide, the more likely it is they will act on it. Specifics about when the person leaves, and when he returns will be helpful, as it is unlikely the officer will sit on the house for any length of time.
