i am going to start tomorrow to try and recover from anorexia.

i have been eating 600-700 calories a day for like 2 months and my weight has dropped to 80 lbs at 5 ft and my doctor said if i dont gain weight im going in the hospital.

i want to beat this and recover. i hate having this disorder. i need to get rid of it, no matter what it takes.

when i start eating more, should i just stop counting calories and eat healthily and normally, or should i slowly increase the calories?

help!?

  1. Stop counting calories. That is probably what stared you. Instead just guess measurements. Piece of meat the size or a deck of cards or the palm of your hand. As much fruit and veggies as you want. Just stay on the healthy route.

  2. First thing you need to do is look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you are beautiful and that you do not need to lose weight.  Try to like yourself the way you are.  Next thing to do is to completely eliminate you calorie counting habit.  Forget all about it.  Try to eat healthy, like skipping the cupcake and going for the yogurt.  Focusing on increasing your calories still means that you are counting them, which is not a good idea.  Just concentrate on being healthy and if you are still concerned about your weight after you have gained it back, take up a sport.  Exercise makes you hungry so that you don't lose too much weight at once, but it still keeps you healthy.  Good luck!

  3. Stop focusing on your food and start experiencing your emotions. Allow yourself to feel. There is a correlation between anorexics and people who can't handle emotions.
