Another Beta fish Question (Tank)

Question

I have another question about the beta fish

How many gallons should the tank be?

I have a tank, and read that a 1g tank would be fine, but the beta would be unhappy and uncomfortable. My mom would probably kill me for buying another tank, but I want the fish to be happy!

Andd.. Im still confused about this question:

Do I need a heater for it?

Betas can be in a relatively small tank. A gallon should be fine. I don't think that you need a heater but If it gets to cold/ hot in your house you will need something to help keep the water temp. within a certain range. From what I understand Betas are pretty easy to take care of because they require so little. Just feed it and clean the tank regularly. Good Luck.

Bettas are tropical fish and thrive in a constant temperature of 78 to 80 Fahrenheit. A betta can easily live to be five years or older, yet most die too early because they are put in small unheated bowls. The stress and constant cool water causes then to die early. It is still possible to keep your smaller betta tank or bowl warm enough, even without using a large tank and heater.

Many people will tell you a small betta tank kit without a heater wuld be fine, but i can tell you from experience that bettas are happiest in a 5gallon heated and filtered tank =]

yes 1 gallon tank is fine.. it does best in 2 gallon...

get some gravel and artificial green plant...change water once in  a week.. it will remain happy

heater not really necessary if u are able to maintain the temperature.. keep it in a warm place maybe in ur house like kitchen...room temperature is absolutely fine..
