Another Bread Pudding question!?

OK I made this recipe http://southernfood.about.com/od/dessertsaucerecipes/r/bl80503c.htm

I doubled it, I tore the bread up in to large chunks rather than layering it.. Will that work? Also so I need to extend the baking time?

I ahve never made bread pudding before!

  1. It does not matter the manner in which the bread is torn or layers. But what does matter a lot with bread pudding is the depth of the pan you are baking it in. It always takes longer in a round baking dish because the center is thicker. I usually use a flat square pan that is evenly deep all the way across it - so it bakes evenly. Sometimes a round casserole will take a very long time to cook all the way through. Good Luck!

  2. Cook it like the directions say, doesn't matter if it's torn or layered, it cooks the same.
