Another Chicken question?

I have made a big run for my 3 chickens, the question is will they be alright in the run all day?? They have food, water and a sheltered area with a nesting box in it. They would be in there from 10.00am to 5.00pm

Yes they should be fine .. aslong as the *run* is predator proof

just make sure they are in some kind of coop at nightime.

Make sure that a big old Red Tailed hawk doesn't come down and have dinner on your dime while you are gone.

they naturally explore at teen ages, so yes, they know how to survive.

I have 1 Rooster,10 Hens,2 Pekin Drakes,3 Pekin Hens and 6 Mallard mix hens and they ALL stay outside all day.

  Currently I do have 5 chicks in an enclosed area as they are not big enough to fend for themselves but as soon as they are. . . they too will be out with the rest of the birds and so will the new chicks that should be anyday now.(Hen is hatching them out but I don't want the chicks outside where something larger than them can get them so I will be putting them in the enclosed area as well until big enough to defend themselves.)

This will be fine as long as they have a shade spot and some dirt to scrach in and nothing can get in to kill also chickens like day ligt for 14 hrs a day but this is good.
