What is going on? What's with everyone being so disrespectful?

  1. do they have no morals or respect in Spain? I hope Barcelona never gets chosen to host the Olympics.

  2. It's not necessary racism.  Say if the Olympics is being held in Africa or India, does it mean racism to take a picture of themselves painted all black or brown?

It's just silly, but not necessary racism.

  3. It's not about whether or not the Chinese find it offensive; it's about the fact that they meant for it to be offensive. To do it once is bad enough but twice?

I think these Olympics are an embarassment to basically every country.

  4. What's wrong with a little fun...the World is going mad!!

"Did ya hear the one about the Canuck..the Pollock and the Jew out in the boat.........?

  5. i'm not sure

  6. Are we sure this was even about being disrespectful?

Either that, or I'm the only person who's ever been hanging around with some friends and stupid stuff happens that you take pictures of because it's funny at the time.  Maybe it looks bad out of context, but you never think of it that way. . . unless maybe if the thing accidentally gets out and the media makes a big deal of it.

Is that necessarily right?  No.  However, unless it's posted up on a major website by people who were involved with some kind of anti-Chinese caption, it's hard to say too much about if they were really intending to make the statement they did at all.

  7. I'm yet to hear, read or see any evidence that the nation of China was upset by the picture. The only people who seem to be insulted by it are the countries where political correctness has gone way to far and is taking the fun out of life. Can't we just assume for once that they didn't mean anything bad by it and move on? Do we have to spend the rest of our lives walking on egg shells trying not to insult anyone?

It's between Spain and China...no one else should even both worrying about it unless China comes out and says they were offended.

  8. I haven't heard any negative reaction from the Chinese community, I think they don't view it as a big deal, but being a Chinese living in United States myself, I find it quite disturbing, I always thought Spanish or any Europeans are sensitive on issues relating to race.

  9. WOW...WTF? Atleast the Chinese are ahead of them in the general medal

    count!

  10. i think they tried too hard to be funny and ended up disrepecting the asian community, maybe they'll get they're revenge during the gamess.

  11. i do agree these are very disrespectful pictures and in reality, there not even funny. its just mean.
