Question:

Another Contact lens question... please help though!

I'm 13 years old and my mom just booked me an appointment to get my eyes checked out and ask about contact lenses.

I'm still in junior high, therefor, I have gym class. I'm worried that if I get hurt or trip or something like that that the contacts will fall out.

I know I should probably be asking my optometrist this question but I am so curious and the appointment is booked more then a month from now.

  1. no way ive been wearing contacts for about 10 years and they only have fallen out if i was playing with my eye too much like itching it.

  2. no the contacts won't fall out that's why most people who are in sports switch to contacts, they'll only fall out if you rub or scratch your eye for too long. don't worry about it you'll be fine. ;)

  3. Yeah I've never heard of a contact falling out, unless it's a hard contact. Nowadays, most contacts are soft plastic, and I've never heard of one of those falling out. I've had my contacts for almost 5 years, and they have never once actually FALLEN out of my eye. But yes, if you rub your eyes about and aren't careful, your contact will get smooshed up in your eye and stuff and it can be really hard to get out and very irritating. I've had to sleep sometimes and wait for a lost contact to slide to the front of my eye so I can pull it out in the morning. But don't worry! Once you put them in once and get used to them contacts are very easy. Although the first time I put them in by myself it took me 2 hours to get one in... :/ (I was so scared of things touching my eyes before I got contacts that I could barely even put in eye drops)
