Question:

Another Eurovision question, but what if for Eurovision 2009 the UK entered the contest as...?

...England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man?

Five nations that make up the British Isles. If we also worked together with Eire, that would make six nations. All nations in "the pact" agreed to give one another 12 points - that would mean that each of the six nations would be guaranteed at least 60 points!

It's obvious that we need to play these poorer European countries at their own game. Anyone else agree?

  1. if that's the way its being played i don't see why not!

i used to think the scoring was funny.

but now i just think that instead of playing the songs they should forget about that and just go to the voting.

its obvious no one really cares about the songs!

Russia's entry could have gone out and sung Happy Birthday and it still would have won.

i think United Kingdom should pull out, its not worth it anymore

  2. I just think we should pull out altogether, and leave them to it.

  3. Save ourselves some money and pull out, it's a joke and can't be taken seriously

  4. The UK actually already enters the competition as 'the UK' so your question is redundant seeing as England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland cannot vote for themselves thus guaranteeing the UK 'nil points'.  And Republic of Ireland traditionally votes for the UK anyway.

  5. Yeah this or just pull out of It alltogether.

  6. Eurovision has been a Farce since 2000 its not been about the music since then but a political issue!with the current political voting unless we physically relocate to near Russian we don't have a hope of winning.

Either that or Keep Eurovision to countries Legally in Europe and Not Asia (and yes theat include Israel being thrown out along with Russia and most ex Russian countries).

Introduce a vote rigging block that you can only award the difference between this years vote for a particular country and the average of the last 2 years vote for the same country. (meaning if they always vote for 1 country after 2 years that vote will become worthless).
