Question:

Another Fleet saline e***a question!?

I have an appointment in 2.5 hours for a sigmoidoscopy. I've only had clear liquids all day yesterday and all morning today. An hour ago, I used a saline e***a (the first time I've ever used one) to finish "cleaning me out." I laid on my side for about 5 minutes before heading to the toilet. But I've only had one bowel movement. I kind of feel like I still have some matter up in me that I haven't moved yet, but I don't know if this is normal! I feel like I'm not completely cleaned out, but the box said not to use more than 1 in 24 hours so I can't use another to be sure.

Is this normal? Is only going to the bathroom once after an e***a normal? I was under the impression I'd like, have the runs for a couple hours.

  1. Don't sweat it.  Wait till you get to the doctors office and ask the doctor.

  2. Are you sure they wanted you to do that?  I mean what did they ask you to do?  Just leave it alone now and seek the hospital staffs advice when you get there.  Talk about worried, you have to calm down as best you can and live in this moment and the moment after the procedure and not worry yourself ill leading up to it.  Think of something nice for afterwards.

  3. Its totally abnormal

  4. The runs would have been abnormal for a Fleet e***a; however, it may have hit you again before you went to the doctor's as the Fleet's will draw liquids into the colon.  You may have also discovered that the doctor's sometimes repeat this again just before the Sigmoidoscopy in their office.
