  3. The Hotel St. Andre des Artes is in a 17th century building. There's not a hint of cable TV and not a mini-bar in sight.

  5. You'll love the Hotel Madison, in the heart of the 6eme Arrondissement.  It's been there forever, and every room is decorated differently.  It was originally recommended to me by Paul Matisse, and his grandfather (Henri Matisse) used to  put his out-of-town guests there.  They have added modern conveniences (like air conditioning, for example), but it retains is old-world charm.  It's across from Eglise St. Germain and the Cafe de Flore, and steps away from the Quartier Latin.

  6. Hotel Mansart is what you're looking for.  Old style, old building with floors that are not level and very French looking rooms.  Very excellent central location in 1st arrondesment on Place Vendome, next to the Ritz and within easy walking distance of all the major sites and the Seine.  Wonderful staff, speak English and very helpful and on a mission to ensure you have a good time in Paris.  I highly recommend it.  Bonne chance!
