Another Three Lion member gets an injunction from the media
It has been reported that a player from the Three Lions has just obtained a super injunction against the press. This prevents the media to print stories or to cover any story related to this certain player’s private life.
Due to the injunction, this player cannot be named, and there can’t be any story written on him. This is exactly what happened with John Terry, 29-year-old player who is currently the Chelsea captain and was the English national team captain at the time.
Terry got this injunction when he was caught having an affair with a team mates girlfriend. It is said that the main reason for the injunction was the affair. The lady is said to be his team mate Wayne Bridges girlfriend.
The name of the woman he was caught having an affair with was Vanessa Perroncel. What made matters worse was that first it was a secret affair, which quickly unravelled and was immediately caught by the media.
Then what made things worse was that he got Vanessa pregnant, while still being married.
The media just blew up with this story, it was the hottest scandal on the Internet, as it was the English Team captain having a four-month affair and the girl was his national and club team-mate’s girlfriend. Wayne Bridge quickly changed his club and moved to Manchester City and retired from international career shortly after that.
This injunction was later lifted after a week, and the media exploded on the topic again. The judge revoked the verdict, as it was proved that Terry did not get the injunction because of personal reasons but did it because of his sponsors.
As a result Fabio Capello dumped him from the National team captain and replaced him with Rio Ferdinand. There was a lot of rumbling of dissatisfaction from the English national team. Not to mention the fact that English media was very unhappy with John Terry and the fact that Steven Gerrard was made captain for the World Cup.
Gerrard quickly became the centre of attention and then the media started revolving around Gerrard’s private life. The absurd reports popping up again and again were sturdily denied by Steven Gerrard and his wife. Another scandal that was heavily reported in the media was about Peter Crouch.
Peter Crouch is 29-years old and the tallest man to have ever played for the English national team. He was previously engaged to Abigail Clancy, a lingerie model. Crouch was the centre of media attention, when the media got wind of his meetings with a paid call-girl. This is also believed to be the main reason why he was not named in Capello’s squad for the Friendly against Hungary that the team recently played and won.
The English player cannot be named here as there is an injunction on him, still if this injunction is to be lifted again like with Gerrard then the media response would be catastrophic and would permanently scar the English team’s name.
Right now it only could be said that the player is a high profile English international player and this is something related to his off-field life. The English Boss Fabio Capello is under extreme pressure right now on how he plans on dealing with the player at hand. Plus with all the pressure on the Three Lions to prove itself once again after the World Cup fiasco, this is not good news for the team.
It is still not clear how this situation will unfold. Fans are hoping against hope that their favourite stars stay out of the recent tornado of scandals.
