So from a previous question i learned that I should only use amps that are CEA certified. So i have 2 L5 subs which are dual 2 ohm speakers. they are 600 rms each So say i get an Orion amp which is class d mono amp. CEA certified RMS @ 2 Ohm: 1 x 400

# RMS @ 1 Ohm: 1 x 600

Is this a good match?

  1. Do not listen to masterinstall3.  Your gonna want at least 1200watts RMS.  Anything less and you might as well not get L5's.  Since you have the DVC2 version of the sub, and you have 2 of them, your only wiring options are .5 ohm, 2 ohm, and up from there.  Since just about zero amps are stable at .5 ohms, you gonna have to go with 2 ohms.  That amp only has 400 watts RMS @ 2 Ohms, NOT EVEN ENOUGH TO POWER ONE L5.  You need to find a CEA certified amp that is 1200 watts RMS x 1 @ 2ohms

  2. Looks like a very good match, should work very well, if your sub is in the proper enclosure, and everything is installed and set correctly.
