Why is it not advisable just to relocate threatened species? Give an example please.

  1. Threatened species are usually so well adapted to their current ecosystem that relocation can be cause of their extinction. Creating a habitat similar to the ones the endangered species lived in before is usually advisable.


  2. Because you don't know how they will react to the environment over long periods of time. Some species cannot simply adapt and will go extinct.

    I believe they tried this with timberwolves in MI.

  3. Well, they usually are not able to adapt to the new environment n they become disorientated. This can lead to death as well. That is y relocation of threatened species isnt a good idea!
