China promises free access to internet without censorship when it got the games. It is now breaking that promise. Journalists arriving in Beijing are finding many websites blocked. Is this another example of why Beijing does not get it and why they should neve have been given the games?

  1. Considering it has been their way for over 50 years now I don't think we should expect them to change. What we should have done is never considered China a suitable host for the games since the majority of us realized from the start that expecting China to clean up their act and uphold a more democratic fashioned government, albeit only for the duration of the Olympic Games, was a lost cause.

  2. Absolutely! When a government cares more about its image than its people it's time for an uprising! The more I learn about China and its suppression of almost everything that truly matters to an individual the more I appreciate our American freedoms. There is little the rest of the world can actually do about this, short of starting a war which would only serve to hurt the Chinese people who need our help the worst. You would think that the Olympic committee would have seen this coming and known that the Chinese government would promise them anything and then do whatever they wanted to just as the games are set to begin. I still say boycott. Free Tibet!

  3. Not only that but hotels are being forced to allow their spy agency to monitor I-net access.  China is evil and I agree, they should not have been allowed to host them.  We should have learned from Munich!

  4. Ofcourse china is not made for the Olympic Games. They are supposed to be help in GREECE and only in GREECE.

  5. i'd only be disgusted in censoring journalists if the journalists were hot.  but if they're fat saggy naked people, then PLEASE CENSOR THEM!
