about how to teach kittens to bathe themselves? Right now they climb all over their food and roll around in it but have not figured out how to bath themselves. I don't know if I can take any "giving them baths. (my arm and hand are scratched up tp pieces). How can I teach them to clean themselves?

My other cats in the house don't want anything to do with them right now and have been staying upstairs. since the kittens haven't figured out how to climb the stairs just yet.

  1. okay heres a suggestion, it has worked with all of my cats/kittens. before my last cat died, she hardly ever cleaned herself anymore, so i did this.

get a paper towel and make the entire thing damp, not dripping. next approach one of your kittens and start rubbing it on their fur, like a cat would. try to take one or two fingers to do this. remember, you want to make it about the size of THEIR tongue. if you do this regularly, your kittens should start to get it. thats what their mom would do. once they get old enough, they'll fully understand what to do. but right now you have to act like the mom toward them

    hope this helped (:

  2. I think your best bet would be calling a vet and taking to them .

  3. They have to grow up a bit before they'll learn on their own how to do it.  I promise it won't take too much longer before they figure out: "ew...i'm all dirty...better take a bath".  You won't have to bathe them forever.

  4. I have been told if you flick a tiny bit of water at them they will start to l**k it off.
