Question:

Another major purge of groups! What is Yahoo thinking?

A few minutes ago, 90 of the 126 groups I belonged to disappeared, including my own.

These weren't abandoned groups, either. Most were active. My own group was a replacement group due to the April Fool's Day purge. It had close to 1000 new members in it's first week, over 600 pix, 30 new links and 44 new messages.

Does Yahoo really want the bandwidth back that bad? Are they safricing Customer Service for Censorship? WTF IS on their minds, anyway?

  1. everyone should book mark Team Blog- they announce these issues

no body generally comes back to report progress, doesn't mean anything. I'm with Richard B, don't all get overly excited just yet

if you've been around Yahoo long enough, you more or less get used to this sort of thing. glitches are nothing new, and most do panic when they happen, but the glitches never last all that long. it is a bummer when they happen but yahoo is getting way better at announcing their maintenance. hping it tames the panic ; )

  2. Don't get excited.  Yahoo! is doing some maintenance work on Groups today.  This usually makes a lot of groups unavailable for awhile.  Wait a couple of hours and try again.
