Another motorcycle question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

my biggest fear about motorcycles is not crashing and hurting myself or death its getting my motorcycle stolen. how do I prevent it from getting it stolen for example if I was to go to the store and shop around for about 30 minutes or more what could I do to keep it there cause if I was a motorcycle thief I would just have a truck ready and have a couple of my buddys help me lift it up to the truck and take off, sounds pretty easy right. so is there something that I can buy to prevent this from happening? I was thinking of buying a chain to lock it up to a pole but poles are not around all the time.

insurance is also another option for me but still would like to know if theres something else I could do?

  1. My motorcycle is a ratbike, a real piece of junk.  Whoever wants to steal it is welcome to it.

  2. Lowjack for motorcycles is now finally available.  Insurance is a must.

  3. I agree with the other forum member's response:  get a lojack on the bike and as for insurance, buy the bike outright with no monthly payments so that full coverage is not necessary.  Public liability insurance only rates are very affordable.  It's the full coverage for fire, comprehensive, thief, medical that will kill you in the pocketbook.

    Good luck!

  4. not much you can do. you can always put locks, chains, etc as deterrents but it only takes a coulple minutes to circumvent any protective measures.

get INSURANCE. it's well worth it. peace of mine. i've got full coverage on mine. if it gets stolen, insurance will cover it. it's a freakin bike. it's replaceable.

  5. i have a passive alarm on my new bike that honks the horn and flashes the lights if anyone touches it.  i get near with my keyfob and it's automatically off, so no goof ups

but then again, looking at my bikes, a person can tell not to f*ck with them, just by my stickers on them ;)  my old bike's key hasn't ever come out since i bought it, never been a problem and it has no alarm

  6. The czechs are never around when you need them , either  :o)

...OK, aside from the fact that your priorities are all screwed up (your bike is NOT worth more than your life!!  duh!!) the answer is "There's not a darn thing you can do to keep your bike from being swiped."

Park it, take the key, pay your insurance, and call the cops ASAP when you notice it's gone.
