Another question, Why does everyone make fun of tabletop gamers?

Im talking about D and D, Magic the gathering, heroscape, warhammer 40k. (any tabletop game really)

These people usually like sports and whatnot. First off, those sport teams you root for do not care about you, they care about their millions, secondly, why do you sport nuts just buzz off. I dont come up to you and tell you that baseball is for cavemen. or that pro wrestling is soap operas for men. So why exactly do you jocks feel the urge to poke fun of things that you dont understand?

because thats the way life is man, lol i mean im not trying to sound like a jackarse but why do birds fly? and like you said they dont understand it nor want to so they will automatically make fun of you or others for doing it. Just try and stay away from them. I'm not into those games myself, but i wouldnt not like someone for doing it. I don't know, i think thats just the way things happen and you shouldnt worry about it, be who you are and dont change, they will regret it one day in this life or the next..

I don't think that EVERYONE makes fun of tabeltop gamers, BUT I do think that, generally speaking (i.e. some but not all), tabletop gamers are a bit socially retarded.  It seems their reality becomes blurred with their gaming and they can't comfortably carry on a conversation about anything else.  That's why SOME people make fun.  Oh, and don't shoot the messenger; I don't make fun.

I prefer Avalon Hill games.  Little squares on hexagon spaces.  I can get the whole worlds armies fighting on the large table that those gamers use.
