Another spectacular track ready to be added to F1 platter
Although Formula One has already hailed several new circuits during the past few years, yet, the thrill and anticipation for every new track is always immense. Now, as the FIA embraces another country in its ever swelling calendar,
Russia, the race fans as well as the teams wait to find out what the new track will be like. The Russian race organisers stated earlier today that the Sochi-based track will be a valuable addition to the world’s most favourite racing series.
As the debut Russian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place in 2014, the authorities believe that they have plenty of time to come up with a remarkable venue. It is hoped that the circuit is going to be an instant hit among the
race fans.
The Formula One supremo, Bernie Ecclestone has given a new dimension to the ever so popular and highest ranking auto race series, globalising it enormously in the past few years. Among several new venues entered in the calendar,
the most loved ones by the race fans as well as by the drivers and the teams are Singapore and Abu Dhabi. The technically most advanced tracks give a great aesthetic appeal and provide the auto-sport lovers with great festivity on the race weekends.
With Singapore’s race, the idea of a night race on a floodlit track, came to the sport for the first time while it was further enhanced by the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix where the race take place under the dramatic sunset of Arabia,
as the sunlight dimes away and the illuminators glow bright on the track.
After the immense popularity of these tracks, the senior executive of the Russian Grand Prix's sponsor MegaFon, Andrey Kraynik, proclaimed that he is sure that the German architect, Hermann Tilke will come up with something as
brilliant as his previous ventures of Singapore and Abu Dhabi, for Russia.
While talking to the media earlier today he said, "When we first invited Tilke down to see Sochi in 2009 we stressed the importance of ensuring the track design got the balance right. The track will be a classic track with an emphasis
on good overtaking opportunities, no gimmicks. It will have a mix of high speed corners, long straights and hairpins.”
