The letter we received said that a qualifying child was one born after 1999. What if your child was born in May of '07? Our daughter wasn't claimed on our taxes b/c she was born in May, but she should still be a qualifying child, right?

  1. As long as you put her on your tax return as a dependant. She must have a social security number for you to have done that. I know because I got credit for my son who was born November 07 and he was on my tax return.  oh and my other son was born September 1998 and I got credit for him, so that born after 1999 is incorrect!

Have you done the calculator with you tax return in front of you? You can also do the where is my stimulus check at www.irs.gov

  2. She would qaulify if you claimed her in 2007.  Why wouldn't you claim your children?

  3. Not until the following tax year.  When you file for 2008.

  4. I don't understand why you didn't claim your child on your taxes.  My son was born in October of 07... I claimed him and I also got the stimulus rebate for him.

  5. the year is 2008 when you filed in 2008 in was for 2007 the year your child was BORN if she was BORN in 2007 you should of claimed her on this year even though it was for a half of year in 2007...she would be over a year old now right?!!
