Question:

Another wisdom tooth question?

I got my wisdom teeth taken out on friday and ever since then my mouth has been really dry and my breath has been pretty bad. I've brushed as normal and also used that salt mix thing to rinse. Anyone know why my breath is so stinky? And when will it stop being so smelly?

  1. If you developed dry socket, that could explain the odor. Are you in pain? because thats another sign of dry socket.  You can go to a health store and buy clove oil. Put a tiny drop on a piece of gauze and put it in your wisdom hole for a couple of hours.  Its the only thing that helps. I did that for a few days and it went away.

  2. I got mine taken out almost a week ago and I'm still going crazy in pain. I'm already running out of the pain meds they gave me. My breath has been pretty bad from not being able to close my mouth comfortably. And my doctor put these packings in the holes on the bottom where the teeth used to be with this medicine on them. And they taste disgusting! AWFUL! I gagged for a few days and finally the taste went away. I'm brushing my teeth a lot and brushing my tongue. But the brushing is pretty limited you know? After you heal up completely I'm sure it will be easier to get better breath back. For me, I don't care. I would literally swish coke in my mouth all night just so I could distract the taste of those packings. That is a taste that is going to haunt me forever.

  3. maybe you have dry sockets

in which case you will have to get some disgusting green stuff put into the holes and then a ball of string put in it.

are you allowed to use listerine?  if not... hmmm i dunno.

  4. If you had dry sockets you would know it!! I had them and it feels like you have been kicked in your face. When I had my wisdom teeth out I was told to rinse with a mixture of listerine and water after I ate anything. Maybe try that? It could also be infected, I would go to the doctor.
