Hi. I am not a native speaker of English, but for a couple (friends) I am currently translating the medical journal for their baby, who is ill, and the English-speaking specialist who will treat her, wants the baby's history in English.

Is there a word for nappy change/washing in English, a word nurses would use?

Hope you understand what I mean. I'm looking for one word for the whole procedure.

Anyone..?

  1. Diapering!  :)

  2. Here in the UK we tend to refer to 'nappy changing' or simply 'changing' (ie changing a baby means to change his or her nappy).  I don't know of a more technical term.

In North America they refer to diapers rather than nappies.

  3. No, not that I know of. In childcare we also call it nappy change

  4. diaper changing

  5. Maybe just changetime....

What you are writing is fine anyway....just don't forget that some countries call nappys diapers.....

  6. Diaper change is what we call it over here in the US.
