Granada boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juan-Antonio-c19650 Anquela, has rued his team’s lack of killer instincts and their inability to hold on to their ball possession.

Anquela believes his side has done enough to deserve a place in the second round of the Copa del Rey. Instead, they were eliminated despite defeating Real Zaragoza by 2-1 at home.
Real Zaragoza had a player sent off but were lucky not to have conceded another goal. Now they go to the next stage of the Copa, thanks to the away-goal rule as the aggregate score was 2-2.
Reflecting on the match, the Spanish tactician admitted that Zaragoza had their chances, but felt his side were better and deserved to go through.
“They have had their chances, but from the sending off, we worked hard enough to easily deserve to go through.”
Anquela revealed his intention of wanting to stay in the competition and stated that playing now in the Primera Division will not give him comfort and satisfaction.
“We wanted to stay in the Cup, there is no comfort in being able to focus on the League now.”
Moreover, the 55-year old said that he had premonitions about the dooming goal of Zaragoza and is now languishing with the fact that his players lacked the intensity and pressure they needed to impose on their opponents.
“We did well, but I did see Zaragoza’s goal coming, because in the first 10 minutes of the second half we lacked the intensity that is required, which happens in all games.”
The Spaniard believes his players are doing everything they can and for some reason, they are still not getting the return they deserve from some of the matches they have played so far in the season.
“The team is doing a lot more than they are getting.”
Finally, Anquela is hoping the fatigue factor will not play a role in Granada’s weekend encounter with Espanyol in the Primera Division.
“Fatigue I hope will not hit the players, because on Sunday against Espanyol ambition must overcome everything.”
Granada have failed to keep a clean sheet in the domestic league since the start of the season and are still in the relegation zone.
