Granada CF boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juan-Antonio-c19650 Anquela, has admitted that his team needs to start winning games whilst also stating that the Copa del Rey is the perfect place to start that process.
Granada have managed to win only one out of their last seven matches in all competitions. Because of their poor run, they have now slipped to the drop zone in the Primera Division.
Tonight they will host Real Zaragoza at home for their second-leg match in the Copa del Rey. That is why the club boss, Anquela, believes this encounter can be the chance to kick-start their season and turn things around at Los Cármenes.
The tactician has admitted that things are looking bleak for Granada. He believes his players have given their all but somehow results are just not favouring them at the moment. He hopes for better results that will soon lift their spirits and change their fortunes.
“The numbers have not been good. In so far as our play, we have done everything, but there has been more dark than light, so I hope that the situation is reversed, because it is the results that raise your spirits.”
Anquela is planning to face Zaragoza with the same strategy he implemented against them in their previous encounter. He also had words of praise for his opponents and said that they are a very competitive side who are well organized.
“What we have to do is play like we did in the first match against Zaragoza when in the League. They are a very competitive team and a great team, very disciplined, very professional.”
Finally, the 55-year-old coach has revealed that he will adopt the rotation system without making his side less competitive. He is highly concerned about the fact that his side is not scoring enough goals.
“We will rotate players but without compensating for competitiveness, because we need to win. At the moment we are not scoring goals.”
Granada have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their 13 matches in the Primera Division this season and are still rooted in the relegation zone with just 11 points.
