Anshuman Gaekwad, the former Indian batsman, has advised the distraught Indian all-rounder, Yuvraj singh, not to think http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gordon-James-Muchall-c60376 over his gloomy Test career and focus on what he has currently. Gaekwad coached Yuvraj in the start of his International career.
As Yuvraj has been selected in the squad that is set to play 4-match Test series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 later this month, Gaekwad has admonished him to shell out all apprehensions from his mind and gear up to show his mettle against the English.
Gaekwad said, “He shouldn't think about his (Test) future -- whether he would be selected again or not. He should play his natural game without taking any pressure. He should just play his own game and believe in his abilities, which he has shown from time
to time. I would like to see more determination from him to do well.”
He further told, “He will be geared up to prove himself this time. His experience will count now. Selectors have noted his past performance in England and that should give him confidence do well in the Test series.”
Yuvraj often expresses his worries about his dismal Test career as he has played just 34 Tests and made 1639 runs in the 11 years of his international career.
His concerns are based on the fact that his age factor may render him unable to play Test cricket as he has grown 29.
On the other hand, Yuvraj has a glaring career in 50-over format of the game. Making his ODI debut in 2000, he has played 274 ODIs so far, made 8051 runs and grabbed 109 wickets.
However, he is not satisfied with this situation as he wants to achieve a high ranking in Test cricket.
