Can Guinea Pigs Eat Yogurt???

Please don't answer this if you don't know for sure.

It's Astro brand fat-free vanilla yogurt, with no sugar, no aspertame, no fat. It has skim milk in it, flavouring, colour, etc...

Don't ask about it and no mean comments. I just need to know. Can they?

  1. make sure there are absolutely no artificial sweeteners of any kind aspartame , scurrilous, splenda, no of that stuff it is horrible for humans and under no circumstances should it be givin' to animals it will kill them!!! but other than that yogurt is good for there digestion in small amounts of course. to much may make there bathroom very messy. but yes it is fine for them but you should try not to give flavored ones. look for LOW FAT plain. that is the best.

  2. no because yogurt is dairy and the only thing that's dairy that they are supposed eat is cheese but they really should only eat cheese as a treat

  3. no fat plain yogurt is the only type that can possibly be okay, and i wouldn't even give that except maybe a teaspoonful every once in a while as a treat.  i wouldn't feed the type you are describing at all.  if your guinea pig has already eaten some, but it was a small quantity, she should be okay(if it is your guinea pig). if a large quantity was eaten (if you even have a guinea pig that ate any)  then she/he might need veterinary advice, just by calling and asking what to do. check for diareea, and make sure she is eating and drinking okay.

  4. I would say no.  Guinea pigs are herbivores so they're really not supposed to get anything that comes from an animal.
