  1. too many!

  2. x = no. curry buns

    y = total no. buns

    x =3y/4

    y = 5x/6 + 63 + y/5

    4y/5 = 5x/6 +63

    24y = 25x  + 1890   (multiplying both sides by 30)

    3y = 4x

    32x = 25x + 1890

    7x  =1890

    x= 270

    y= 360  which is the no. Arnold baked

  3. I was going to solve,but the others on the top had already done.Its 360

  4. Assume total buns he made=A

    A-3/4*5/6*A-63=1/5*A

        A-15/24*A-63=1/5*A

    (1-15/24-1/5)*A=63

                            A=360

    He made total 360 buns.

  5. Let total buns be B

    Curry Buns - B*3/4

    Tuna Buns - B*1/4

    Buns Left - B*1/5

    B - B*5/6*3/4 - 63 = B*1/5

    B - B*5/8 -B*1/5 = 63

    B*7/40 =63

    B = 40*9 = 360

  6. 5/6 of the curry buns are 15/24 (or, by extension 225/360) of the total buns

    Since 1/5 is 72/360, this means that the 63 tuna buns represent 63/360 of the total.

    So he made 360 buns

    (EDIT: ouch, inched out by three seconds... that sucks.  Good job, mandeep)

  7. c = 3t

    c/6 + (t - 63) = (c + t)/5

    5(3t/6 + (t - 63)) = (3t + t)

    substituted 3t for c.  c is number of curry, t is number of tuna, and answer is c + t.  Solve for t and c.
