  1. Once female guppies become sexually mature they get pregnant and stay pregnant. They have a gravid spot all of the time. It will get larger and darker until the fry emerge and then it will be small again. Guppies will have babies every three to four weeks depending on the temperature.

  2. Guppy getting its gradient spot takes up to 28 days regularly. Giving birth will take 2 weeks. By adding male guppies into the tank, it would be faster, though giving birth will still take 2 weeks.

  3. First of all it's called gravid spot

second of all, the females have a small gravid spot showing at all times

the gestation period is 28 days, a few more or less depending on temperature and other factors

so once you notice she gets fuller in body shape, you know she is pregnant for sure

  4. 3 weeks i think.

  5. Gradient spot, gradient spot, hmm, what in the world is a gradient spot?  Oh, you must mean gravel spot, uh, I mean gravid spot.

When you can see tiny little eyes in the gravid spot, expect birth very soon.  The gravid spot will be there for quite a while, so time will vary.  A female guppy will generally give birth every 28-30 days.

  6. yeah,  i think 3 weeks.

  7. well a few weeks is what I would say, when mine get them,it is always a few weeks.

MAKE SURE IT IS BIG,AND SHE HAS A SQUARE STOMACH,THAT IS WHEN SHE WILL GIVE BIRTH SOON.

  8. 18-22 days av

  9. It should birth within 21-30 days of it's mating.  However guppie are prone to eating thier own young.  Gross I know.  If you want to prevent this, you might want to have a secondary holding tank or a breeding cage for it in order to prevent it canablizing its young.  Also guppies can store sperm so if it's pregnant once, it can continue to reinseminate itself several times, even if it only breeds once, so you might want to keep an eye on it.

  10. the average is 28 days. this is a good site to go on to find out what stage your guppy is in. http://www.fishforums.net/content-page/2...
