  1. LOL, boy children are the pits aren't they? Well, let's just say that you aren't the only one that's endured things like this. Believe it or not, I would actually apply some regular dishwashing soap into his hair. This type of soap is gentle on the hands and formulated to cut the strongest type of grease, unlike the chemicals contained in shampoo. After lathering his hair with soap, I would then rewash it with shampoo-type conditioner. This is to help provide moisture back into the follicles since the dishwashing liquid is going to strip his hair bone dry. Lather the conditioner on his head for about 3 minutes. Then I would wash it out. Afterward, if there are any risidual amounts of vaseline in his hair (which I doubt), let it just ride out on it's own. Good luck!

  2. this is going to sound strange but try peanut butter, it gets gum out of hair. I know they are two totally different textures, but I have heard that gum gets alot of things out of hair. Wish you luck!

EDIT: I apologize, I meant Peanut Butter out of hair..... Hard to type and run around chasing a one and two year old lol.

  3. Keep  shampooing...........till  it's gone

  4. Baby powder also can get out oily substances out of hair. Take care to keep it out of the eyes and cover the greasy hair in the powder and comb it through. Then try shampooing as usual.

  5. I would call the 800 number on the package or look up who makes it.  There should be a consumer number you can call.  Don't worry, I'm sure other kids have done the same thing, and there is probably an easy solution.  good luck!

  6. Baby Powder! Put in it when it is dry and work it through the hair until it's almost gone then wash it and repeat if you have to!

  7. read link below.

  8. Dawn dishwashing detergent. Just watch the eyes. My daughter did the same thing when she was about 3. It takes 2-3 times of washing it with the dawn, but you will see a difference right away!

  9. Try Goo Gone. It works well for greasy, sticky stuff. Just put it in his hair then wash it after. You have to be careful around his eyes, but it should work really good. Good luck. =]

  10. Remove all of the Vaseline from the hair that you possibly can before you start shampooing.  Use paper towels or cloth towels to get every possible bit out. Use a comb also to "comb" any out that you can.  Then you have to use a LARGE amount of shampoo -- right on the area of the Vaseline, wash and then just keep on washing/rinsing.  EVENTUALLY it will all come out.  My niece did that several years ago when she was about 1 1/2; she had LONG curly THICK hair.  I shampooed her hair 14 times before it was finally all gone.

Be sure to use the baby shampoo. An adult shampoo would irritate his eyes too much and as much time as he is going to spend with soapy hair, his eyes would be serious irritated with any other type of shampoo.

We made a game of it to keep her from getting irritable about the constant re-shampooing.  I assure you of one thing though--it is something he won't soon forget!
