If the water comes from the same tap water purifier and one gallon is boiled while the other stays the same, unboiled, without any additives, is the unboiled water still ok to drink just as the boiled water is?

  1. Regular water out of the tap is OK to drink. It just does not taste good and may have some stuff still in it.

Boiling water for at least 10 minutes will kill anything left in the tap water. However, it will also leave it there. If you don't use a filter, purification system, or a distillery then even though it is dead it is still in the water.

Beyond that I am not exactly sure what you are asking. I think it looks like you have a tap purifier and asking about boiling making a difference. If that is true then you have to know there are complete differenes in what you use.

Most filters are NOT purifiers. The cheap stuff that most people buy, brita, pur and so forth only improve the taste, color and odor. They do not actually remove any health related items. You really need to find out what they remove. The low grade filters should have the water boiled if you are concerned about health. Actual purifiers may or may not need to. Again it depends on what they remove.

eSpring water purification systems remove so much that only a distillery can get water cleaner. Distilleries though are very expensive to buy, maintain, and messy.

Check out the Water Quality Association (WQA) and the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) International about water, filters, and standards.

  2. If you are giving it to a grown person, yes. Well, as long as the person is not a baby. It is almost exactly the same. They actually Put IN stuff into the bottled water. I think that bottled water tastes like plastic, but whatever floats your boat, I guess.

  3. Depends if you let the boiled water cool down, ha.

    But yeah, it will.

  4. Sure, why not?

Unless its for a baby who has to have Sterilised Water.
