  1. Contact them and ask.

Based on the experience of our ministry I would say probably canned tuna, canned chicken, canned hams,  main dishes in a can (like spaghetti, stew)  individual servings as well as family sized with pop tops if possible, soap, TP,  personal hygine things,    However different places have different needs.   We find a lot of folks here give veggies and fewer give meats or main dish things.  We can use rice,  dried beans, cereals, pasta etc but at places without AC or where there will be a long shelf time sometimes these things get wormy and if one package gets that way chances are they all will be very soon.   If you know that they have lots of children they help things like  kids meals, juice boxes etc may be good.   Things like chocolate bars are not good in summer because they melt but hard candy is especially lifesavers because they don't go bad and kids and old ppl can not choke on them.  Some places can use fresh and frozen things but many can not.

Thank you so much for doing this especially now. Every food ministry I know of is in need right now with less food coming in and more ppl needing help. USDA abd state ntrition program supplies are down in many places.  I am guessing it will get worse before it gets better.  Plus when school is out kids who would get free or reduced cost lunch and breakfast don't have that available and families are having to pay more for child care so the food budget is tighter.

  2. Basics mostly. Healthy is good, but only if it's in non-perishable form (cans). You need things that won't spoil. Boxed food is good, canned food... You have to think that these things will probably we waiting a while to get distributed to people who will need them. Think of things you would want that are simple but not completely void of nutritional value.

  3. You can give anything that isn't parashable. Anything canned! Or sealed, and nothing that doesn't need anything fancy cooking.

Somethings that are good for you, veggies, etc.
