Since it is summertime, I am having an ant problem. They still come even if it's clean and there isn't any food there. Are there there any ways you can prevent ants from coming into your house? Are there any smells they stay away from? Are there things I should be doing? Please help!

  1. Ants hate the smell of basil, and tomato plants.  Flies do too.  But, ants are plobly the hardest ones to get rid of, because they are out looking for more then just food.  Water, warmth, and a new place to live.

Go outside and sprinkle instant grits on top of the ant hill, when you think it's going to be sunny for a few days. The ant's will take the grits inside to the queen. She eats the grits and then will expand and die within a week.

  2. Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar. The ants will pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.

  3. I hate ants.  There is a powder poison that you sprinkle on them and they'll take it back to their friends.  Get it at a walmart or hardware store.  Be careful with pets and kids.

  4. Try these home made remedies made from your common household products....

  5. i wipe everything down with white vinegar the smell dissipates after it drys, its also a disinfectant.  then i find where there coming in at and put baking soda down there, so far its worked for me and we had ants until i did this. i found it in my organic house keeping book.
