Anthony Davis likely to miss two more weeks of action with ankle injury – NBA News
The New Orleans Hornets might have to go for another two weeks before they can expect to have their number one draft pick of this year and starting forward Anthony Davis back in the team line-up, as it could be that long before Davis recovers from a stress reaction in his left ankle. Davis talked to members of the media on Sunday and said that a precautionary MRI was conducted on his ankle after he suffered three ankle sprains in as many days. The MRI showed that the ankle was suffering a stress reaction and the injury could worsen with continued play.
"The fact I sprained my ankle three times in that one week, that was odd. So they found that inside my foot. And you know the whole Grant Hill story, so they wanted to be very cautious with the way I handled things,” said Davis.
Davis is now expecting to return for the Hornets sometime in the first week of December, when they will have a string of games to play.
“Hopefully in the next week or two. I just hate sitting around and not being able to  be on the floor with my team. So as soon as possible, hopefully they'll give me the OK pretty soon,” added Davis.
Davis rolled his ankle on November 16th in a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but played against the Milwaukee Bucks the next night and scored a career high 28 points and 11 rebounds. That proved to be his last game before the injury, as he was shut down after that game and is still to return back to the team.
"It feels good. I'm just trying to take it a day at a time and see what the doctors say. Hopefully I'll get back on the court soon. It's just precautionary reasons to wear (the boot),” said Davis about wearing the precautionary boot that he is wearing on his ankle.
The Hornets were expected to be one of the teams to watch in the Western Conference this season, but so far have not displayed anything out of the ordinary. If the team wants to meet the expectations of fans as well as many analysts around the NBA and compete for a playoff spot, they need Davis to return to action.
