Anthony Ervin occupies Men’s 50m freestyle gold – 2013 British International
Anthony Ervin of Cal Aquatics occupied gold medal of the Men’s 50m freestyle on opening day of the 2013 British International in Leeds, UK, on Friday, March 8.
Anthony stayed in prominent lead over his closest competitor and cruised his way towards the finishing end for gold medal. He faced strong competition from his toughest challenger in the first half but with his alluring pace in the second half, he reached
the wall for first position.
Anthony enjoyed a half body length lead over his closest competitor and cruised his way towards the finishing end for gold medal by producing an effort of 22.28 seconds.
The gold medalist was followed by Proud Benjamin of Plymouth Lea, who was 0.44 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by touching the wall with the timing of 22.72 seconds.
The second best finisher was followed by Jasper Van Mierlo of Netherlands, who stayed only an inch behind and finished his race in third place by producing a time of 22.91 seconds.
The third position holder was followed by Kane Haggett of Derventio, who was 0.05 seconds slower from his former finisher and clocked an effort of 22.96 seconds for fourth place.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Bushell Andrew of Loughborough University, who stayed 0.07 seconds slower from his former finisher and posted a time of 23.03 seconds.
Bushell was followed by Sebastiaan Verschuren of Netherlands, who was 0.04 seconds behind and tapped the wall with the timing of 23.07 seconds for sixth place.
Seventh fastest spot of the race was obtained by Grant Turner of Loughborough University, who was 0.02 seconds behind and hit the wall with the timing of 23.09 seconds.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Levi Lucas of Hatfield, who stayed 0.13 seconds slower from his former finisher and was unable to overpower any of his opponents. Lucas finished his race in eighth place by touching the wall with the timing of 23.22
seconds.
Furthermore, the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable effort at the victory ceremony of the session.
