Anthony Hamilton backs up Lewis Hamilton for 2013 – Formula 1 news
Anthony Hamilton has backed up his son, Lewis Hamilton for the 2013 Formula 1 season in which he is going to drive as Mercedes driver.
Hamilton’s contract with McLaren is going to expire at the end of this year and he has planned to move to the Brackley based team in the next season.
Moreover, he will replace the record championship holder, Michael Schumacher who has taken retirement from the sport and will drive alongside Nico Rosberg in the coming year.
Even though, he has faced a little bit criticism over his decision regarding leaving the Woking based team which is more competitive than Mercedes, nevertheless, he is feeling confident and is earnestly looking forward to the new challenge.
Furthermore, his father has shown great support for him and has encouraged him to perform well with the new team in the coming year.
Hamilton Sr. has said that he has full faith in the 27-year-old and really hopes that he accomplishes his target in the next season. In addition, he said that his son has got the talent and will definitely help his new team to make the necessary preparations
to come up stronger in the coming season.
“We really believe those guys are going to get it together,” Hamilton Sr. told Sporting Life. “There is a definite passion to come good, and I believe they will do. You don't have such a great car company and such talented people in one place -
and now they've the addition of Lewis - without it being a recipe for success.”
Additionally, he has said he believes in Mercedes including the team principal, Ross Brawn and the motorsport president, Norbert Haug. He also said that he wishes them all the best for the future.
“I believe in Mercedes, Ross Brawn and Norbert Haug. I believe everybody they need to turn a good team into a great team are all there, and more than anything, I believe in Lewis,” he added.
It will be very interesting to see how the 2008 world champion shows up in the next year with his new team.
