Anthony Hamilton destroys Tom Ford, surges into last-16 of PartyCasino.com Players Tour Championship
Anthony Hamilton crashed Tom Ford 4-2 in the first round of PartyCasino.com Players Tour Championship 2010-11 Grand Final yesterday, at the Helix Theatre, in Dublin, Ireland, to cruise into the last-16. He will face World Number Two cueist, Mark Williams,
in the next round.
The World Number 41, Hamilton, grabbed a 1-0 early lead when he banged into the game firing a stunning century break of 133 in the very first frame and surprised the 27-year-old Ford to clinch the frame 137-0. The 39-year-old Hamilton, nicknamed Robin Hood
of Snooker, extended his lead to 2-0 taking the second frame 65-43. Ford, who won the third event of Star Xing Pai PTC, was dragged under a lot of stress after Hamilton swept the table with an impressive 92 points in the third frame and advanced 3-0 in the
game.
However, the World Number 33 bounced back into the game to capitalise and snatched the fourth frame 37-56, followed by the fifth 56-67 with a couple of decent breaks of 38 and 36 respectively, to lessen Hamilton’s lead to 3-2.
The Euro PTC Event 1, AKA Paul Hunter Classic, runner-up, Hamilton, clicked the sixth frame 67-19 smashing a beautiful half century break of 54 to confirm his spot against Mark Williams in the second round of PartyCasino.com Players Tour Championship 2010-11
Grand Final.

Hamilton and Williams have not played against each other during this season. The 39-year-old Hamilton has played 49 matches including 3 walkovers and won 30 out of them possessing a winning ratio of 61.2 percent. He played overall 309 frames winning 165

It was a great day for the 32-year-old Michael Holt, as he destroyed Marco Fu of Hong Kong 4-1 taking four consecutive frames after Fu took the first. He banged some outstanding breaks including a century break, 66, 110 and 54. Holt also grabbed the sixth
event of Euro PTC, also known as Prague Classic, beating the World Number One, John Higgins, 4-3, in the final. He will now be going against Englishman, Barry Pinches.
