Anthony Mundine: I am going for Mayweather – Boxing News

Anthony Mundine is still waiting to get a shot at any prominent fighter, as he thinks he has been dealing with ‘Chihuahuas’ to date. Mundine will be fighting Bronco McKart on July 4, at Palms Casino in Las Vegas. This match will mark his debut in the US,
but the young fighter is eager to make it big in the industry.

In his recent interview, Mundine came up saying, “It's not the fight that I wanted or that I earned as far as a big fight but that was the offer that came and there was nothing else happening so I had to take it. I had to jump at the opportunity. I can't
knock back a main event. I've got to start somewhere ... this is a launching pad to bigger and better things. They can feed me all the chihuahuas they want - I want the big dogs because I'm going to stomp on them. I'm going for Mayweather, man - that's what
I want. He's the best - I want him... and I'm just going to keep beating whoever they put in front of me 'til I get him.”

He added that he is on Mayweather’s level and he wants to take him. According to Mundine, Mayweather is among the best fighters of today and he wants to get the best. He further said that right now boxing is a two-man show, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather.

On the other hand, Floyd Mayweather thinks he is done in the sport and he probably will retire soon. Even though he has not mentioned anything regarding his retirement in specific, many analysts think Floyd will soon leave the arena.

In his last fight against Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather appeared slow and his performance was under par. Although Mayweather won, a lot of former boxers and analysts said that he was not quite up to the mark. Hall of Famer Freddie Roach believes that if
Cotto was a better puncher, he would have taken Mayweather down since he had reached Mayweather well in the eighth round. For now, Mayweather will be going to jail to serve his 90-day sentence.
