Anthony Mundine wants to get the ‘big dogs’ – Boxing News
Anthony Mundine is scheduled to fight Bronco McKart o July 4 at Palms Casino in Las Vegas. Even though this would be his first fight in the USA, Mundine is not really excited about it. In his recent interview, Mundine said that he needs a break in his career
and he does not want to face ‘Chihuahuas’ of the industry anymore.
He added, “''It's not the fight that I wanted or that I earned as far as a big fight but that was the offer that came and there was nothing else happening so I had to take it.”
Mundine currently rides a record of 43 wins and four losses, and he thinks it is about time for him to get a bite of the better cake. Asked why he opted for the current fight, he said, “I had to jump at the opportunity. I can't knock back a main event. 'I've
got to start somewhere ... this is a launching pad to bigger and better things. They can feed me all the chihuahuas they want - I want the big dogs because I'm going to stomp on them. I'm going for Mayweather, man - that's what I want. He's the best - I want
him... and I'm just going to keep beating whoever they put in front of me 'til I get him.”
As he has already indicated, Mundine wants to take on pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather.
The young pugilist is confident about himself. Adding further to his self-praise, Mundine said that he is the best athlete of all time. According to Mundine, going for Danny Green would be more beneficial in terms of money but he is not looking forward to
monetary benefits for now. He added that now he wants to cement his legacy and he thinks taking on the best is the only way to do it.
For now, Mundine is not on the cards for Mayweather. Mayweather will be going to complete his jail sentence until August and then he might fight with Amir Khan or Manny Pacquiao. In other words, Mundine still has to wait to get his hands on the unbeaten
American.
